Animation Movie “TRUE NORTH”

The animation movie titled “True North” was produced and the movie is about North Korea’s human rights issues. The movie was based on the data regarding North Korean Political Prison Camps from NK Watch and testimonies of the victims in North Korean Political Prison Camps and Myeong-chul Ahn, the executive director of NK Watch.

Currently, “True North” produced by Eiji Han Shimizu, an animation director, was accepted to the official selection of Annecy Film Festival in France.

The movie shows the story of Yo-han, a 9-year-old boy, grows up in a notoriously brutal political prison camp in North Korea. “True North” is a meaningful movie raising awareness of North Korea’s human rights situation.
